Flexibility...! Hello and welcome! Change of plans. Things not turning out how they are supposed to. Finding alternative solutions. Trying something new. Adjusting to new situations. These are all just a few examples of where being mentally flexible can be useful. With over a year, in and out of lockdowns through the pandemic, my mental flexibility has helped! Rapidly, changes have come into place, requiring a shift in daily routines, social interactions and life in general. Just like being physically flexible can help our bodies to move in different ways, being mentally flexible can support us to be more resilient and to navigate our way through various challenges and changes. The opposite of being flexible is inflexibility, which is characterised by a more fixed way of thinking and being, which may not adapt as easily to changes and challenges.
